Healing Leg Eczema as an Adult

How to Treat Adult Eczema on Legs

Having atopic dermatitis as an adult can look and feel different than childhood eczema. Oftentimes symptoms can be more intense and severe.

Atopic dermatitis, the most common type of eczema, is a chronic condition that causes the skin barrier to be compromised. Eczema symptoms can continue from childhood into adulthood or for some it can develop for the first time as an adult.

Adult onset eczema can be a result of an allergy. This allergy can develop from foods such as dairy or gluten or from an environment allergy or to a skin care product. Visiting an allergist can help determine if adult onset eczema is being caused by an allergy.

Eczema can be uncomfortable and embarrassing, regardless of age. Designed for effective eczema treatment, these revolutionary eczema pants are now available at the Eczema Relief Store.

How to effectively treat leg eczema?

Wet wrap therapy is a very simple process and still one of the most effective ways to get eczema under control.

Simply shower or bathe in lukewarm water for at least 10 minutes. If you use an eczema cleanser, rinse it off thoroughly. Immediately apply an eczema emollient while the skin is still damp. Then apply these eczema pants over the emollient. Leave the wrap on for at least 2 hours, or between 5-8 hours for a more intense eczema treatment. Repeat the process at least two to three times per week for best results.
